Feedback from COREVIP 2015 Participants

Networking opportunities rated Very Highly by COREVIP 2015 participants

Participants of the just ended 2015 Conference of Rectors, Vice Chancellors and Presidents of African Universities (COREVIP) have attested to the unique platform presented by the conference for networking with major stakeholders in Higher Education in Africa and beyond.  This came to light through a conference evaluation carried out by the Secretariat at the end of the conference, held in Kigali Rwanda from 2-5 June 2015. Ninety-two out of two hundred and fifty participants completed the paper-based evaluation forms which were distributed to participants for feedback. Key results of the conference evaluation are highlighted below:

  • 73.6% of respondents found the overall conference theme relevant to their institutions
  • 80% found the four day conference duration appropriate
  • 97.7% rated the overall conference organization as good or very good
  • The overall quality of plenary session speaker contributions were rated as good by 65.9% and rated very good by 31.9%
  • 58% said not enough time was allocated for discussions during plenary sessions
  • Eighty participants said that the parallel session topics were relevant
  • The level of interactivity during parallel sessions was said to be “just right” by 82.1% of the respondents
  • Only one person rated the conference networking opportunities as poor
  • 85.7% of the respondents were from institutions that are members of the AAU
  • 60.9% of the respondents had never attended a COREVIP conference before
