African University College of Communications (AUCC) Gets First Female President

Dr. G. Koryoe Anim-Wright was officially installed as the President of AUCC on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at the institution’s Discovery House campus at Adabraka, Accra, Ghana. She was appointed President of AUCC on September 1, 2015 after holding that office in an acting capacity from June to August 2015.

Dr. Anim-Wright joined the AUCC Community in 2013, as Dean of the Business School. Prior to her appointment at AUCC, she worked at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) where she served as Director of the Centre for Management Development before her appointment as Director of Corporate Affairs and Institutional Advancement.

Dr. Anim-Wright is the immediate past Vice President for Academic Affairs in AUCC. As VP for Academic Affairs, she served as the Chief Academic Officer, and was responsible for managing the school’s academic units, and driving the policies and practices that affect the academic life of the University College.

The University currently runs two degree programmes, namely, Bachelor of Arts in Communications Studies and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. AUCC has been ranked by UNESCO, as a Centre of Excellence in Journalism and Communications Studies. AUCC is also a member of the Association of African Universities.
