Call for Internship Positions

Call for Project Assistants - Image

OVERVIEW

The Association of African Universities Secretariat which is based in Accra, Ghana is calling for Interns to apply for opportunities to work as Project Management Assistants. Since we are a continental organisation, we are also keen to receive applications from non-Ghanaians who are able to fund their travel to Ghana. Both Ghanaian and non-Ghanaian applicants are also expected to secure their own accommodation in Accra. The Interns will be paid a modest monthly allowance. They must further be keen to build careers or gain experience in the indicated project areas of focus.

AREAS OF FOCUS

1. Workshops Management

2. Resource Mobilization

3. Data and Statistics on African Higher Education

4. Monitoring & Evaluation

5. Continental Education Strategy for Africa Cluster

6. Supporting the implementation of various AAU Projects

 

NUMBER OF POSITIONS: Four

DURATION OF CONTRACTS: One Year

DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS: 23rd September 2017

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Master Degree preferably in any of the following areas:

a. Business Administration

b. Economics or related field

c. Education

d. Public Relations and Communications

e. Social Sciences

f. Science

PERSON SPECIFICATIONS

We are looking for “Dynamic” young people who are motivated and are self-starters. The following characteristics are important for these roles:

1. Keen to gain experience in Project Management

2. Able to initiate, plan, execute, monitor, evaluate and conclude projects

3. Critical thinkers, problem solvers and entrepreneurial individuals

4. Excellent client-management, stakeholder facilitation and internal communication skills

5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills

6. Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills

7. Must be excited about contributing to African Higher Education development

8. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications
