THE AFRICAN HIGHER EDUCATION COMMUNITY MOURNS THE PASSING OF PROFESSOR PAUL-HENRI AMVAM ZOLLO

PRESS RELEASE FROM THE AAU

On the 15th January 2020 I received, with sadness, the news about the death of Professor Paul-Henri Amvam Zollo. He was Professor Emeritus of Biochemistry based in Yaounde, Cameroon.

Professor Paul-Henri Amvam Zollo is the former Rector of Université de Ngaoundèré, Cameroon (2003 -2017), former Dean of the Faculty of Science of the University of Douala – and also served as a Governing Board Member of the Association of African Universities (AAU) during the period 2013-2017 as a representative of the Central Africa region.

On behalf of the AAU Governing Board, the 400 AAU Member Universities, Staff of the AAU Secretariat, stakeholders of African Higher Education and my own behalf, I extend our heartfelt condolences to the Cameroon Ministry of Higher Education, family, friends and ex-colleagues of Professor Paul-Henri Amvam Zollo.

We remember him for his commitment to the development of African Higher Education Institutions – through training, research and service for solving Africa’s pressing problems. Cameroon and Africa have lost a renowned scholar and researcher.

May His Dear Soul Rest in Perfect Peace!

SINCERELY

PROF ETIENNE EHOUAN EHILE

SECRETARY GENERAL

ASSOCIATION OF AFRICAN UNIVERSITIES
