October 2, 2023The Biodiversity Futures Initiative is inviting applicants to join the Panel of Academic Specialists (deadline 30 September 2023). These would be contract appointments paid at £500 a day to help with reviews of biodiversity claims.
Members of this group will need to have one or more of the following skills:
- Good working knowledge and experience of the practicalities of in situ surveying of specific taxa
- Experience of working with digital data collection (e.g. camera trapping, acoustic analysis, etc.) and analysis techniques to quantify taxa (e.g. AI, eDNA, GIS etc.)
- Extensive experience in sample design for biodiversity surveys
- Experience in reviewing papers or data sets for biodiversity studies
Members of the Panel of Academic Specialists will be requested for input when applications are received that fit their specialist ecoregion, habitat or taxa skills, thus this role will require a much less frequent engagement. Specialists accepted onto the Panel of Academic Specialists will be contracted so that payments can be made by bank transfers for completion of input.
