The delegation was led by Honourable Kojo Yankah, founder of African University College of Communications (AUCC) and Executive Chairman of the Museum foundation. The delegation briefed Prof. Oyewole on the progress of work on the Pan African Heritage Museum, a multimillion-dollar brainchild of Hon. Kojo Yankah that is being constructed on Pomadze Hills, near Winneba Junction, in the Central Region of Ghana. The Museum which is expected to open in August 2023, is to showcase the history, culture, and achievements of the Pan African world as presented by Africans. Hon. Yankah informed the Secretary General that while the physical construction was ongoing at the site, a team in Miami, Florida was actively producing the digital version of the museum to be launched in May this year. The delegation also offered to continue to cooperate with AAU to expand its presence in North America as well as in various parts of the African diaspora.
On his part, the AAU Secretary-General assured the delegation of the support and collaboration of the AAU towards the museum project and beyond, especially in their joint quest to mobilize Africans from all parts of the world for their common good.
Based on their common interest on reaching out to the African Diaspora, the two sides agreed to merge their Diaspora homecoming meeting and conference at a joint Summit to be held in September 2022. The Pan African Writers Association (PAWA) is to be invited as a co-partner of the Summit.
