KNOW YOUR CONTINENT QUIZ – Join us on May 25, 2022 as we celebrate Africa Day

The Association of African Universities Television (AAU TV) presents; the “Know Your Continent Quiz” Competition to commemorate this year’s Africa Day – 25th May 2022. The day is observed annually to celebrate the founding of the organization of African Unity (OAU), which later evolved into the African Union (AU).

The quiz competition by AAU TV is also being hosted to create awareness and educate stakeholders about the aspirations, goals, and policies of the African Union towards the development of the African Continent as enshrined in Agenda 2063.

Hosted under the theme “The Year of Nutrition – Strengthening resilience in nutrition and food security on the African Continent”, the quiz will provide the opportunity for Africans to enrich our knowledge on related key topics such as Agro-Food Systems, Health and Social Protection Systems for acceleration of human, social and economic capital development, among others.

This maiden edition of the “Know Your Continent Quiz’ competition will also broadly serve as a learning and entertaining platform to highlight the rich African history, culture, legacy, art, music, sports, and many other disciplines.

As format the quiz will feature exciting and educational Q&A sessions in a live show set up with live audience at the studios of the Association of African Universities TV (AAU TV STUDIOS), located at Trinity Avenue, East-Legon, Accra, Ghana. Additionally, stakeholders can join via zoom to participate by registering via this link – https://bit.ly/3MnYGms 

The whole event will also be streamed online via YouTube  and Facebook (Association of African Universities)

Winners will be rewarded and given massive visibility through a broadcast on AAU TV, which will further be disseminated among the AAU’s wider network.

 

Additional Information

The Association of African Universities is the apex African higher education body, with a membership of about 400 higher education institutions from 46 countries in Africa.  It’s aim is to be the lead advocate for higher education in Africa with the capacity to provide support for its member institutions in meeting national, continental, and global needs. In line with fulfilling its mission to enhance the relevance of Higher Education in Africa, the AAU TV was established to disseminate real-time information on education-related issues, as well as discuss issues of relevance to Africa’s development.

The Association of African Universities Television/Media (AAU TV ) was set up to also leverage the wealth of research and development knowledge that  higher education institutions and their collaborators have churned out over the years, thereby creating a space where both the academic community and general public can access the benefits that these innovations hold for the continent.
