MANAGEMENT DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP (MADEV VII)
Date: 24 – 28 July, 2017
Venue: The Ultra-Modern 2000 Hotel, Kigali, Rwanda

The AAU MADEV series is a forum for discussion of topical African higher education issues and equips middle level university and HEI managers with appropriate skills and information to help them appreciate the environment and use available resources effectively to achieve organisational goals. Participants would have a better understanding of what it means to be a university manager within the changing context of higher education in Africa.

MADEV 2017
This edition of the Management Development Workshop (MADEVII) will look at the challenges of managing university research and ensuring that it fits into national development agenda. The short but intensive workshop will help address issues of Setting the Research Agenda in African Universities; Monitoring and Evaluation of Research Projects; and, Dissemination and Communication of Research Results. In addition, there will be a guest presentation from an experienced university manager.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
Participants are expected to have experience in operating at a strategic level in an African higher education institution or other comparable organisation, and personal commitment to further learning, career development and progression at the most senior levels. Although MADEV generally targets newly appointed Pro/Deputy Vice Chancellors, Vice Rectors, Deans, Deputy Deans, Directors/Coordinators of Institutes and Heads of Academic Departments, holders of these positions who are in their first term of office as well as persons who are aspiring to these positions, are free to attend.
