To meet this rising demand of equipping researchers, academics and young scientists with the necessary writing skills to convert a research work into a publishable manuscript, the Association of African Universities (AAU) is offering a four-day training workshop titled “Strengthening Scientific Writing Skills for Publishing Research Outputs in Peer-Reviewed Journals”. The purpose of this four-day workshop is to help participants use the results of their scientific study and turn them into a draft article for submission for possible peer-reviewed publication. Another area that would be covered is how to deal with on-line submission and editors’ and reviewers’ comments. This workshop will focus on aspects of “writing” and present a general outline of the steps to be followed while writing the manuscripts.
Objective of the Workshop:
This workshop seeks to help participants:
- Know the principles of writing a scientific paper in a step by step manner
- Develop a draft publishable paper
- Learn how to deal with online submission and peer review
- Know how to choose titles and Abstracts
- know the different types of manuscripts
- Learn the Different methods of manuscripts writing and how to present the results of a study to be published
