Call for Nominations and Applications to be part of the AAU 2025-2029 Governing Board
The Association of African Universities (AAU) is calling for nominations from the members of the Association for the positions of President, Vice-Presidents and Members of the Governing Board to serve for the period 2025 – 2029. Please see the call in English, French, Portuguese and Arabic:

Dear Distinguished Rectors, Vice Chancellors, and Presidents of AAU Member Institutions,
We bring you greetings on behalf of the President of the AAU Governing Board and the Secretary General of the AAU to formally notify you that the Association of African Universities is calling for nominations from the members of the Association for the positions of President, Vice-Presidents and Members of the Governing Board to serve for the period 2025 – 2029.

Duly accredited representatives of members of the Association in good standing (NOT OWING ANY MEMBERSHIP FEES) are therefore invited to submit their candidacy or make nominations for election to the office of President, Vice-President or Members of the Governing Board of the Association by completing the online form: https://www.research.net/r/25-29GBME no later than 15th May 2025.

As stipulated by the Byelaws, accredited representatives of member institutions who submit their candidacy or make nominations are to be seconded by at least five members of the Association (for the positions of President or Vice-Presidents) and at least two members of the Association (for the position of a member of the Governing Board). Representatives seconding candidates for the various positions are also to fill a separate online form: https://www.research.net/r/25-29GBME-Seconders no later than 15th May 2025.

Please also note that following the validation and acceptance of nominated candidates – a Digital Election will be held by the Association on a date to be announced by the Elections Committee.

Conformément aux statuts, les représentants accrédités des institutions membres qui présentent leur candidature ou font des nominations doivent être soutenus par au moins cinq membres de l’association (pour les postes de président ou de vice-présidents) et au moins deux membres de l’association (pour le poste de membre du conseil d’administration). نتقدم لكم بخالص التحيات بالنيابة عن رئيس مجلس إدارة اتحاد الجامعات الإفريقية، ونخطركم رسميًّا بأن الاتحاد يعلن فتح باب الترشيح أمام الجامعات الأعضاء لشغل مناصب رئيس ونواب رئيس وأعضاء مجلس الإدارة للفترة 2025 – 2029.
وعليه، فإننا ندعو الممثلين المعتمدين للجامعات الأعضاء ذوي العضوية الجيدة في الاتحاد (ممن ليس عليهم اشتراكات عضوية متأخرة) للترشح أو الترشيح للانتخابات لشغل مناصب رئيس ونواب رئيس وأعضاء مجلس الإدارة من خلال ملء النموذج الإلكتروني التالي:

وفقًا لما تنص عليه اللوائح الداخلية، يجب أن يتم تأييد الممثلين المعتمدين للمؤسسات الأعضاء الذين يتقدمون للترشح أو يقدمون ترشيحات من قبل خمسة أعضاء على الأقل من الاتحاد (لمناصب الرئيس أو نواب الرئيس) وعضوين على الأقل من الاتحاد (لمنصب عضو مجلس الإدارة). يتعين على الممثلين الداعمين للمرشحين لشغل المناصب المختلفة أيضًا ملء نموذج إلكتروني منفصل:

كما يرجى العلم أن الاتحاد سيجري انتخابات رقمية بعد المصادقة على المرشحين وقبولهم، وذلك في موعد تحدده لجنة الانتخابات في وقت لاحق.
نهيب بالسادة رؤساء الجامعات بالتحقق من حالة مؤسساتهم في عضوية الاتحاد قبل المشاركة في هذه العملية من خلال الضغط على الرابط التالي للاطلاع على قائمة الجامعات ذات الوضع الجيد والجامعات ذات الوضع السيء قبل ملء نماذج الترشيح أو الدعم. لذا، ننصح كافة المؤسسات الأعضاء بالاتحاد بالتأكد من قيامهم بسداد رسوم العضوية بالاتحاد حتى عام 2025.
