ANNOUNCING CALL FOR NOMINATIONS TO THE 2025-2029 AAU GOVERNING BOARD

Call for Nominations and Applications to be part of the AAU 2025-2029 Governing Board

The Association of African Universities (AAU) is calling for nominations from the members of the Association for the positions of President, Vice-Presidents and Members of the Governing Board to serve for the period 2025 – 2029. Please see the call in English, French, Portuguese and Arabic:

• Duly accredited representatives of members of the Association in good standing (NOT OWING ANY MEMBERSHIP FEES) are therefore invited to submit their candidacy or make nominations for election to the office of President, Vice-President or Members of the Governing Board of the Association by completing the online form: https://www.research.net/r/25-29GBME no later than 15th May 2025.
• As stipulated by the Byelaws, accredited representatives of member institutions who submit their candidacy or make nominations are to be seconded by at least five members of the Association (for the positions of President or Vice-Presidents) and at least two members of the Association (for the position of a member of the Governing Board). Representatives seconding candidates for the various positions are also to fill a separate online form: https://www.research.net/r/25-29GBME-Seconders no later than 15th May 2025.

• Please also note that following the validation and acceptance of nominated candidates – a Digital Election will be held by the Association on a date to be announced by the Elections Committee.
• VICE CHANCELLORS ARE ADVISED TO CHECK IF THEIR INSTITUTIONS ARE IN GOOD STANDING OR BAD STANDING BEFORE PARTICIPATING IN THIS PROCESS: Please click here for list of members in good/bad standing before you complete the nomination and or seconders forms. We therefore advise all AAU Member Institutions to ensure that they have paid their membership fees up to and including the year 2025. We look forward to receiving your applications and nominations.

• Les représentants dûment accrédités des membres de l’Association qui sont à jour ( qui ne DOIVENT PAS DE COTISATIONS DE MEMBRE) sont donc invités à présenter leur candidature ou à faire des propositions d’élection aux postes de président, vice-président ou membres du conseil d’administration de l’Association en remplissant le formulaire en ligne : https://www.research.net/r/25-29GBME, au plus tard le 15 mai 2025.
• Conformément aux statuts, les représentants accrédités des institutions membres qui présentent leur candidature ou font des nominations doivent être soutenus par au moins cinq membres de l’association (pour les postes de président ou de vice-présidents) et au moins deux membres de l’association (pour le poste de membre du conseil d’administration). •  Conforme estipulado pelos Estatutos, representantes credenciados de instituições membros que enviarem as suas candidaturas ou fizerem nomeações devem ser apoiados por pelo menos cinco membros da Associação (para os cargos de Presidente ou Vice-Presidentes) e pelo menos dois membros da Associação (para o cargo de membro do Conselho de Administração).
