9TH Leadership Development Workshop (LEDEV IX)
Airside Hotel, Accra, Ghana
24– 28 October, 2016

The Association of African Universities (AAU) runs the Leadership Development Workshop (LEDEV) series to enhance the leadership skills of university leaders, particularly in the promotion of innovation and the management of change. This is achieved through intensive participant interaction over carefully selected case and other material, and lead lectures, in a process facilitated by eminent Resource Persons. The 9th LEDEV workshop will be held in Accra and will be facilitated in English.

Thrust and Method

The main themes of LEDEV will be selected from the following:

  1. Strategic Planning in African Universities
  2. Quality Assurance in African Universities
  3. Developing the Entrepreneurship Universities
  4. University Innovation and Intellectual Property Rights
  5. Leadership and Governance of African Universities

Please indicate the 3 topics you would like emphasised in the finalisation of the curriculum. 

Participation

To ensure effective interaction and exchange, the number of participants is limited to a maximum of 40, selected on the principle of “first come, first served”. Please fill the attached form and send to the addressee below. While participation is open to all involved in higher education leadership, preference will be given to persons holding the positions listed below, in universities and equivalent institutions:

  • Vice-Chancellor/Rector/President
  • Deputy Vice-Chancellor/Deputy Rector/Vice-President
  • Dean/Director
  • Chairman of Council/Senate

New Vice-Chancellors, Rectors and Presidents, will find this workshop particularly helpful.

Registration Fee

The registration fee is US$600.00 for early bird registration up to Wednesday 12th October, 2016. This covers workshop materials, snacks and lunch. After 12th October, 2016  late registration will be US$700.

NB: All other expenses – travel, accommodation, subsistence, etc. – are to be borne by the participants.
