Join the AAU’s Upcoming Workshop on – Inculcating Entrepreneurship & Job Creation Skills | 9th-12th May , 2022

This workshop is being organised by the Association of African Universities to encourage and facilitate the adoption of entrepreneurial leadership in African HEIs. Please download the concept note HERE

Objectives

The main objectives of this workshop are intended to:
1. propose ways in which entrepreneurial leadership can be established in our
institutions
2. promote the cultivation of an enterprise culture that suits our African context
3. develop ways in which the entrepreneurial mindset can be cultivated amongst
faculty and staff
4. explore strategies for dealing with our challenges

Expected Outcomes 

Participants of the workshop should be able to:
1. develop an employability and entrepreneurial leadership framework that will
suit their institutions
2. gain an understanding of the existing paradigms, the types of enterprise
cultures and strategies for bringing innovation and change 3. use the knowledge and skills as a toolkit to aid the establishment of enterprise
and entrepreneurship programmes in institutions
4. acquire greater awareness of ways in which some of the challenges associated
with graduate employability and job creation can be effectively dealt with.
5. ensure that quality standards, suitable curricula content and academic rigour
are maintained in the delivery of enterprise and employability related
programmes

Content to be covered

The content to be covered include, but is not limited to the following topics:
1. An award for employability in a university
2. Employability Skills; what the current employer looking out from the current
Graduate
3. Employability and Skills Gap between Industry and HE
4. How to set up an Entrepreneurship Incubation Centre for an Academic
Institution for the benefit of Students and faculty
5. Mainstreaming Innovation & Entrepreneurship Capacity in the African
Continent

Target Audience 
Participation is open to all who are involved in higher and tertiary education regardless
of their area of specialization, including but not limited to:
• Lecturers
• ICT personnel
• Deans
• Heads of departments
• Examination officers
• Teaching and learning centres’ personnel
• Business School personnel

Fees

• Participants from outside Ghana: US$650. 00
• Participants from Ghana: US$300. 00
N/B: The payment details should indicate the workshop that is being paid for because
there are 2 different workshops.
The fee covers tea/coffee, lunches, workshop materials, certificates, administration
costs and local transport to and from the workshop venue and select hotels within a
5km radius from the workshop venue. It does not cover accommodation and travel
expenses (air tickets).
