December 30, 2019AAU CALENDAR OF WORKSHOPS FOR 2020
January 13, 2020OPEN CALL TO AFRICAN HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS FOR AAU TO FACILITATE INSTITUTIONAL WORKSHOPS
THE CALL
The Association of African Universities (AAU) Secretariat is calling on African Higher and Tertiary Educational Institutions to indicate their interest for the AAU Secretariat to organize Institutional Capacity Building Workshops on their behalf during the year 2020. This activity is implemented by the AAU in it’s capacity as the apex body and Voice of Higher Education in Africa as well as the Coordinator for the African Union’s Continental Education Strategy for Africa (CESA 2016-2025) Cluster on Higher Education.
WHAT IS AN INSTITUTIONAL WORKSHOP?
An Institutional Workshop is a capacity building workshop organized by the AAU for staff of a particular institution. The workshop content is designed in collaboration with the institution in order to meet its specific needs. In terms of duration, they take between 3-10 days and are normally delivered in that institution or at a selected venue outside the campus. The cost of delivering the Institutional Workshop is negotiated between the AAU and the concerned institution. One key advantage this type of workshop has over the others, is that a good number of staff can be trained at once at an affordable rate as opposed to sending individuals to attend workshops outside the institution.
