UNESCO Prize for Girls’ and Women’s Education

UNESCO is taking up calls for nominations for the UNESCO Prize for Girls’ and Women’s Education 2022. The call is currently open until 20 May 2022 for institutions in the field of education. UNESCO would be glad if your institution would consider actively promoting the call for nominations to your networks  and consider nominating relevant organizations and projects.

For ease of reference please find a sample visual in EN and FR, the social messaging document and the Prize’s Explanatory Note (in FR and EN) attached along with the User Guide for Partner NGOs. Please find the full social media kit here (visuals and messaging are available in all 6 UN languages (messaging forthcoming for Russian)). In addition, you can see and/or share a short 55 second video about the Prize here.

 

The UNESCO Prize for Girls’ and Women’s Education is currently accepting nominations from UNESCO Member States and from all NGOs in official partnership with UNESCO including the Association of African Universities.

The Prize honours outstanding and innovative contributions made by individuals, institutions and organizations to advance girls’ and women’s education and awards USD $50,000 to two laureates annually to advance their work. Visit the Prize’s website to learn more about the selection criteria and to check whether you are eligible.

Lastly, please note that while you cannot nominate your own organization, you can nominate NGOs or individuals who you partner with or partially fund who are undertaking projects since at least May 2020 in the field of girls’ and women’s education.
