The AAU has extensive experience in organizing and delivering high-quality workshops tailored for the needs of higher and tertiary education practitioners. The AAU has effectively trained over 50,000 academic staff since its founding in 1967. The AAU has a vast database of higher education experts that it mobilizes to support the delivery of the required workshops – including Francophone, Arabic, Lusophone and Anglophone experts. The Association of African Universities North Africa Regional Office (AAU NARO) was launched at a high-level, colourful and well attended ceremony hosted by Al-Azhar University in Cairo, Egypt on the 12th March 2019. Al-Azhar University, which was founded in October 975 AD, is a founding member of the Association of Africa Universities.
