Report and Communiqué – 8th International Conference and Workshops on Quality Assurance in Higher Education in Africa

The 8th ICQAHEA was organised from September 19-24, 2016 in Widhoek Namibia with a purpose of consolidating the results achieved in the process of implementation of the recommendations of the 7th ICQAHEA, among others. Concept Note for 5th Webinar -Promoting Continental Integration through the Harmonisation of Quality Assurance and Accreditation in African Higher Education

The main objectives of the WGHE webinar on promoting continental integration through the harmonization of Quality Assurance and Accreditation in African Higher Education include 1) Describe and explain the existing continental Pan African Quality Assurance Framework (PAQAF) upon which the harmonization of Quality Assurance and Accreditation in African Higher Education will be anchored. 2) Bring to the attention of higher education stakeholders the existence and purpose of available tools that will be used to realize the goals of PAQAF and these include the African Quality Rating Mechanism (AQRM), the HAQAA Initiative and Tuning Africa

Basic Higher Education Teaching Skills Training Workshop

The Association of African Universities (AAU) will be holding a short-term 4-day intensive training course on Basic Higher Education Teaching Skills to equip lecturers with the foundations for effective teaching at tertiary level through content on Educational Psychology, Educational Philosophy and Educational Sociology, Bloom’s Taxonomy, Teaching using ICTs, Quality Assurance in tertiary Education as well as Assessment and Evaluation. University teaching personnel regardless of their areas of specialization are therefore invited to attend the course. The training will be held from Monday the 30th to Thursday the 2nd of February, 2017 from 8:30am to 4: 30pm at a place in Kumasi, Ghana.
