Strengthening Educational Technology Skills in African Universities
The AAU and its partners are piloting a virtual capacity building of the Moodle LMS for 170 academic staff of Lupane State University based in Zimbabwe. The open content being used for the Virtual Moodle Training for all academic staff at Lupane State University was developed as part of the EdTech-UEM project for academic staff capacity building. The content was developed by Eduardo Mondlane University and the Centre for Innovation in Learning and Teaching (CILT) at the University of Cape Town (UCT) – and funded by Sida. e/merge Africa, which is funded by the Carnegie Corporation is a partner in the adaptation of the EdTech-UEM workshop resources.

Meet the Neighbours’ EU-Africa Film initiative
As the current Covid-19 crisis is keeping the majority of the world’s students out of school and universities and confined into their homes – the European Union encourages youth from both Member States and partner countries to find creative ways to keep cultivating their inner self. For that reason, the initiative “Meet the Neighbours of the Neighbours during COVID-19 time” will open a digital window to enable students and youth from Africa, the Mediterranean and Europe to have free access – through the streaming platform FestivalScope.org – to a selection of high-quality films about the respective cultures, providing for a mutual understanding and build solid basis to strengthen fertile inter-cultural dialogue.
